The Story behind Oriental Rug Care

Mohammad Amin Rahmati has been operating Oriental Rug Care on Bell Street for five years, where he repairs, washes, and sells rugs. He, along with his family, fled Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan War in 1980 and settled in Los Angeles on Christmas Day 1982. Rahmati learned the art of repairing and making rugs from his father, Mohammad Ali Rahmati, and has continued this tradition at his shop in downtown Sequim. He skillfully repairs rugs, including those at least 100 years old, and also offers imported rugs for sale, as well as restoration services such as washes, reweaving, and new fringe.
